Facebook trusted contact feature to allow users to get back in their account. when it was not accessible.
Why do I have Facebook Trusted Contacts?
Facebook Trusted contact are close friends you can reach out to if you ever need help getting into your Facebook account
(ex: if your Facebook account in case it is hacked or you lost your Facebook password and can’t get into your email account to reset it).
Protect your Facebook account. Now, Facebook has modified this feature called Trusted Contact which lets your friends help you if you’re having trouble logging into your account.
Facebook trusted contacts
Go to Facebook Security Settings -> Trusted Contacts section -> Choose Trusted Contacts -> Choose 3-5 friends -> enter the password -> Submit.
Note: You can edit them or remove all of them at any time.
Once you set up Facebook trusted contacts that help you get back into your account the next time you’re having trouble logging in.
Recover facebook account
Click Forgotten account? on the login page.
Find your account by entering your email address or phone number, username or full name and click Search.
If you don’t have access to any of email addresses listed on your account
Click No longer have access to these?
Enter a new email address or phone number that you know you can access and click Continue.
Click Reveal My Facebook Trusted Contact and type the full name of one of your trusted contact.
You will see a set of instructions that includes a special URL. That URL contains a recovery code that only your trusted contacts can access it.
Make call your trusted contact then let them know you need their help to regain access to your Facebook account.
Each of your trusted contacts can get a security code from the social network for you with instructions on how helping you.
Finally, You can enter the security code into Facebook to recover your account.
